Burlap Luxe Home In White
Inspiring a two drawer French Chest that now replaces the coffee table. After being inspired to paint a chest that has hung around in my homes for the last 25 years. I was inspired to paint it white and then paint and distress the surface with a French weathered patina to it. I love the look and feel of a French chest replacing a coffee table.
Rustic Details in White
Inspiring the beauty of white washed in greys.

Vera, the milk pitcher was to dramatize the fact that I was creating with white. The white milk I hope got the message across.

Love what you did with the chest, Dore! It is perfect for your space.
Only you could think of just the right styling, a rose in the milk pitcher!
You always make me see the potential in so many things, and for that I thank you.
Big hugs,
Patti
I like the chest idea because it is tall enough then for a laptop - makes smarter sense then.
You did a great job with the finish.
Say, um, is that MILK your rose is sitting in? Is this good for a rose? I have never seen that before, just wondering.
absolutely beautiful.

there is simply nothing more peaceful and beautiful than a creamy white room filled with patina. Your use of the chest is perfect and I enjoyed gazing at the placement of your vignettes. I'm so glad I found your blog.
I love your house, it is wonderful.

Lovely as always!
The chest is beautiful. I love the simplicity of the room.
For some reason, this morning I awoke and began simplifying the vignettes throughout my house.
Thanks for your simple inspiration.
this just made me so happy! thank you!!!
Ohhh, it's wonderful! and just look at that perfect little rose sitting there, beside the sweet little chippy box. That has to be one of the cutest boxes ever.
Your home is incredibly beautiful, and every item seems to have it's own special spirit...

Your home is an inspiring place Dore! I love it when you invite us in.
hugs...
Hi Dore,
What a soothing room and that little bit surprise of a rose in a REAL "milk glass" vase :-) So comfy to invite one's bare feet up on the trunk to rest, and yet elegant in a quiet way that only the French (and you) can create that when one walks in the room, that instantly one feels elegant herself! That is always treat to feel elegant after a harsh work day, a bad hair day, a "I feel fat" day, or "I have nothing to wear" day. Feeling restful and elegant is a great cure for those blah days.
Thank you for inspiring your readers to create a space for themselves to reflect such a feeling.
Lots of love and hugs
Elizabeth

Always dreamy, Dore. You have such a talent for telling a story with your photos. Simply stunning.
Bonjour ma chère! Tu es venue voir les chevaux blancs, gris? MERCI! Je les adore, j'ai envie d'en toucher un!!! Je te souhaite une bonne journée!! Anita
With you in mind, I painted our chicken coop white and let mother nature distress it.
As usual, you make such beautiful things.
Just gorgeous, as always! I love the look of something a little different as a coffee table, too-the chest is perfect.
Susan

Just gorgeous! My favorite color palette is grey and white. Love the finish on your coffee table.
Oh, so lovely. If I didn't have doggies, I would make my whole house white. :) Beautiful as usual, Dore.
