Rustic French Goat...Fromage

Burlap Luxe Home

With the French, collecting is not a hobby but,
a way of life.

This bench rustic in all sense of the word-with its unusual shape and
colour it is a rustic find of the past.

I am sure where this came from they had no idea I would delight in the
use, and design, shape, and colour simply by the way I have displayed
it in my French home.

A desperate yard sale object became a rustic beauty when it found me!

I love the aged black patina of the many nail holes.
Pottery plates and cheese knives ready for some
rustic goat cheese.

Burlap Luxe baskets

My latest muse of inspiration
I might have to add to my home.

Rustic Goat Cheese

I am designing rustic French signs from salvage.
Hand painted and water marked with a sense of
old world weathering to them.

soon in my shop!

Adding French culinary to a very French feel.

Doré,
Your passion and creative brilliance always, ALWAYS delights my heart. Loving your new signs and don't get me started about having Goats. I adore their energy, their personalities, how they can keep lawns trimmed (Ha Ha). Love their milk into cheese, amazing sweet little animals.

Your very rustic stool is going to be an enjoyed addition in your home. Just this past weekend while we were in NYC visiting friends, I went to our friends gallery/store. I fell head over heels in love with a small old pine bench/stool with a time worn beautiful patina.
It will be joining our home as a beautifully aged piece in our living room.

It is amazing how a vintage or antique piece whispers to our soul and we embrace it and become part of it's legacy.

A visit to your blog is always a beautiful way to spend some time.

Sending love,
Vera

Bonjour chère amie,

Un très joli petit billet... Comment résister au fromage de chèvre ? et à tous nos fromages ! Chez moi la spécialité AOC est la fourme de Montbrison. A ne pas manquer la dégustation !...
J'aime vos petites trouvailles. Je fais régulièrement les puces...

Dearest Dore,
If it finds it's way to your hands, anything can be transformed into a peaceful and might I say exquisite piece.

I just returned from your shop.. I was wandering around dreaming.
If only my pockets were full, your shop would most likely be empty.
Don't get me started with these sweet goats! Oh dear are they cute.
Enjoy your evening.
blessings,
Penny

Oh yum, I love cheese of any sort! One of my favorite things to do in So Cal was go in Trader Joe's and pick up some cheese, pate, hummus, crackers and bread...perfect dinner!

Your little bench is lovely and so very *you*! Love the little goat sign.

Bonjour ma chère! I LOVE GOATS and the cheese! You just gave me an idea about the goats...I'd love to have some real goats, but of course, I live in the city! But imagine a stunning oil painting or even an enhanced LARGE print or even acrylic on canvas of French goats, in muted grays, for THE KITCHEN? Now that would be elegance pour la cuisine, à la chèvre!!!!

Good morning dear friend! I hope all is well. Your little bench is such a beautiful item of patina and love. So fantastic my friend.

Much love to you, Anita

What a great little stool! Perfect. I need one steady enough to reach the top kitchen shelf. I'm a shorty and I think I'm shrinking every year. Thing is my body is expanding with each inch.

What a delight! Who would think that little goats could be so charming? The cheeses look wonderful! What an inspiration for your beautiful weathered signs. They complement your sweet little weathered stool so nicely. I do love the patina on those silver spreaders as well. Such a charming post you have put together here! I always love your take on things.

Beautiful patina. I am just now getting around to purchasing a few gorgeous items from France & Europe to decorate our tiny cottage with. Nothing like an original with stories to listen to.
Sending hugs your way, sweet Dore.

Dearest Dore, it has been way too long since my last visit! I have often wondered how you decide what to keep, and what to sell in your shop? You create so many wonderful pieces, it would be so hard for me to give them up.The small step stool looks fabulous as a display for books, plates ect. The rustic goat cheese sings will be a huge hit for those wanting to incorporate cuisine themed pieces into their kitchens! The old world flavor you have brought to life once again is beautiful! Hope you are doing well, I have missed seeing your beautiful creations. XOXOX Christel

Ma chère Doré!

Good morning! Sweet friend, it's always a pleasure to see your comments! THANK YOU! I know the feeling of being a few days late for visits....now that school is in FULL swing, I am finding myself running around and unable to really do some creative writing. But I think once I really find my momentum, I will be able to get my writing back.

Thank you for your loving comments. I LOVE TO CREATE! Oh, you should see the little table that I think I told you about that I found was being thrown out by an ANTIQUE salvage warehouse. It's French, but I painted it GOLD and now am wiping a light layer and wiping off WHITE PAINT. The results are remarkable. Now, if I could just get a moment to photograph it!

Big hugs Anita

Dear Dore,
It is always such a joy to see you have come for a visit.. Your warm words brighten my day.
Thank you so much for your encouraging words for Fibi and Boo. No, as a matter of fact, I very seldom have any recall of dreams.. I find this odd.. Ideas usually just pop in, day or night.
Listening to music always inspires me.
Sometimes I will just look at all the colors of the wool, then decide what I feel like creating.
Once I start needle felting, it more or less just evolves from there.
I would love to see your friends Seascape in wool. It sounds beautiful.. I have only done one seascape in wool.. Maybe one day I will attempt another.
It was so nice to hear from you.
Sending you a warm hug,
Penny

Everything about it!
If I had my choice between a luscious rustic cheese or chocolate, I would choose the fromage! (with a sip of RED, of course!) You have given new life and breath to that forgotten little stool!

The sign! I am inspired. I will "convo" you at Etsy!

I was there previously this morn'!

loving so much the unique bench and these charming goat cheese signs. would love to give them a spotlight on the blog if i may share pics? our son's first serious girlfriend was a goat charmer, and she won many competitions showing them. i think they would be a lovely addition! i visit and feed the ones at a nearby apple orchard and talk talk them up like they are babies, without a doubt embarrassing all within earshot. and i don't care. the baby calf? also not safe from me! love to you.

The goat sign is just adorable and love how it is rustic, but elegant - almost makes me want to try goat cheese again. I know, I know, I wish I liked it but never developed a taste for it - but would love the sign all the same. Your patina, as always, is just the right amount of distressing.

Thanks for sharing your talent - and I love that little stool too! I agree, I like the black patina from the nail heads too.

Big hugs always
Elizabeth
