Dore Callaway Art and Home Designs. The trouble with beauty is that it's difficult to agree exactly what it is. |
Everything I create around has a charm of it's own, an imperfection here and there rather then perfection; it's the imperfections that makes it interesting. |
A rustic French grouping of floral cans inspire. |
The white rose has retained its association with both love and formal ceremony. Everlasting love that endure beyond all else. |
When painting, a stillness comes over me letting go and freeing myself in what bonds me to its pureness. Everyday I see a part of art I've never seen before. |
Garden salvage inspires. |
Framed in weathered garden stakes, stained with the winter rains that rise up to greet what blooms. |
Soon my art will be added to my peaceful etsy shop, "BurlapLuxe" |
I dip brush into my soul, while painting grace in ones heart. |
Everyday I am inspired by its little imperfections. |

Beautiful painting, I love the white rose and all the texture. My father is a painter and I know for him it is hard to ever be done with a painting. He always sees that it needs a little something, where we do not see that. Have a wonderful weekend. Alaina

Bonjour mon amie!
I just woke up (it is thundering with lightning and much rain!) and I see your lovely email! I just had to come here first to see your new post, however. I agree with your about beauty; what I see as breathtaking may not be that stunning to others, and vice-versa. That is the conundrum of life, and what makes art a lifestyle that takes a life-time to learn, express and even UNDERSTAND! But I am with you hear about this aged, white lushness, the "forgotten" items that whisper years of use or admiration by someone long gone. Your roses have an everlasting appeal to them, and I can almost feel the "sighs" of joy while you create them. There is a longing and joy in what you do.
Many hugs and wishes for another creative and lovely dear dearest Doré! Anita
Such a lovely painting. The colors are wonderful. And of course so beautiful in your surroundings.
You have an amazing gift for creating such serene beauty, Dore. I love the way you combine the rustic with the refined to highlight each one's unique worthiness and value.
Your rose painting...ahhh, so Lovely!!

Doré,
This post takes my breath away for I feel your emotions describing your passion, your calling and your joyful creations.
.
I am currently painting two canvas to go with a poem, they are abstractions of self expression and will be posted soon. The medium of paint is a heartfelt expression as you guide the brush to give creation with sheer emotional soulfulness.
Your roses are beautiful and captures the essence of peaceful serenity. Whoever winds up lucky enough to be their caretaker will be graced by beauty. Doré your gentle capture of a white rose sings volumes of your artisan heart.
Sending my love,
Vera

Oh Dore, what can I even say! I saved reading this until I could really, really read it, as opposed to skimming through.
I love hearing the words of a true artist, it allows those of us who have no artistic side to see that side of those who do!
Also, I think you and Kerrie must be sisters separated at birth! You both create such peace and beauty, it shines through on your blogs and especially so, in your artwork:)
Dore,
Your gorgeous painting evokes such beautiful thoughts and feelings. Gorgeous.
Kris
Simply beautiful and completely charming, Dore.
Hi Dore, I love that you paint what you see. It is a gift to be able to transfer thoughts to a canvas. I have never tried to paint even once.... Not sure exactly why! Maybe someday I will pick up a brush and give it a try! Stick figures just aren't that artistic!
A beautiful weekend to you,
xo,
Gail
I love all your beauties. Yes, beauty is certainly in the eye of the beholder, but I prefer the natural, the chippy, the white patina that you share so often. Your style is my beauty!
Dear Dore,
I often wonder if you know what an inspiration you are.. Your quiet beauty glows in everything you touch.. I adore the rose.
It is exquisite!
I absolutely love your work, the rose is beautiful, quiet, calming. I also love the imperfections, to me it's the imperfections that make these lovely pieces perfect:)
Dore,
whenever I look at your pictures, there is a calmness (hope, this is the right translation) in me. The beauty you share with us, with your unique Art makes me breath deaper, there is such a strongness in it(or strength? sorry for my bad English), maybe you do not really know, that you are truly a fairy, who gives magic in the lives of so many. I love your tender rose of light and the french grouping.
Me, I am such a nervous being and like a butterfly on speed sometimes;), always afraid of something. I guess, you are totally different, as on the other hand, we really are birds of a feather.
I wish you a wonderful weekend, my Dear, hugs from Méa
Your beautiful paintings are created with love, grace, and passion! And the framing of old wood is genius! I love the overall texture and story each piece tells. Cheers!
Doré,
Stopping back in for another visit to say gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous and that's what I most admire from your art the connection it forms in our heart and is sincerely peaceful beauty.
XOXO,
Vera
