In That Moment, Inspired By The Sea

A beach cottage...

Burlap Luxe vignette inspires the sea.

Painted by Dore Callaway (Me)
In that moment I have painted the sea, it's there where I collect from it. An artist gathers what they see and from that it's then what they do with it.

Go he said,
Until rock gives way to sea, gives way to
Salt and air and the elements all—
Until feet touch land that creaks, melts and sighs.
Rippling, crashing, splitting beneath you,
It’s tired arms open to the cold of night—
Everything frozen, everything hushed.
And then, with eyes at rest, look closely.
Closer.
Closer still.
And in that moment, you will find me—
Indeed you will see.
~Borrowed

Sea brocante piece found at my local thrift and what a poetic fit.

Taking you to a Nordic beach home in Sweden where Hanni and Steffen live in this beachfront home full of flea market finds. I love the rain gutters a perfect galvanized look for the beach, and it's outdoor rain shower.

Dear Dore
When I arrive in this special place you have created I always find inspiration and beauty that would fill the sea.
What a beautiful post my friend, words that lift my soul. I can
actually feel your presence here.

Dore... You painting is amazing!
I can feel the waves crashing against the rocks.. It just takes my breath away... What a talent you
have.. I love the colors.. The ocean is difficult to paint and you have done a magnificent job here.
Thank you so much for sharing it with me..
You are so very kind to come and introduce yourself to Rat Butler and Scarlett.. Thank you for your lovely comments.. Oh yes, I would love to see the wedding couple!
Please do share.
I am working on a post, hope to have it up in a while.. I would love to hear your thoughts this evening.
With great admiration,
Penny

You and Kerrie truly are soul sisters, you've both inspired me to turn my guest room (when we move into our own place and I actually have a guest room!) into a "sea" inspired space. I collected shells on the beach yesterday, not sure what I'm going to do with them yet but it's so amazing how nature can create such beauty! Lovely painting Dore!

Hello Dore

I have been looking at your beautiful painting of the sea. I feel like I am sitting on a rock just looking at those thunderous waves rolling to shore.
The colours and values are so beautifully captured.

Thank you for sharing

Hello Dearest Dore, you are so talented and continue to inspire me so. When I am close to the Sea, I feel content, I feel at Home, I wonder if that may be the Norwegian in me. The Sea is such a magical place, full of many wonders, full of God's beauty....The Swedish cottage is fantastic! Have a lovely evening, Xo, Ashley

Doré ma belle!!! I am stealing away some precious early moments before my day begins with my dear old friend, who happens to NOT rise early!!!

I LOVE YOUR PAINTING MY DEAR ONE! It has those touches of aqua that are so comforting to me, mingled with our GRAY color!!!

That Swedish cottage is just fabulous and let me tell you that VINTAGE BY NINA has been a wonderful inspiration to me. My studio is complete, but I need to add some small touches of gray TULLE onto my bed crown curtain. THANK YOU AGAIN for this lovely find and I wish you a wonderfully creative week! BISOUS, Anita

You painted that? It's fabulous! It has movement, and beautiful colors and you can see straight through the water moving around and over the stones... wow... you go girl, that's amazing!
Great find in the other painting too. The Nordic beach house is to die for of course, i love the gutters like you do... and am dying over the rustic beachiness of it all...
