French Cottage Spirit

 Burlap Luxe Home Style
Designer/Artiste

Living with a salvaged past and
creating in the French cottage spirit.

A salvaged French
lantern.
Decayed and weathered from the
seaside, and purchased from a California, Malibu
cliff-side home remodel.
This exterior veranda lantern, took on years of
sea wash that only a sea breeze and mist
can create rustically.

Artist Dore Callaway
The writer of Burlap Luxe

Painting on salvaged antique mahogany floor
planks.
Vintage linen is mounted and canvas nailed
to the wood plank, then painted in an aged
style of intrigue.

Artist Dore (me) signed,
Callaway

Each linen painting is purposefully tattered,
torn, and frayed. Adding all the rightness
to the look and feel of French cottage
spirit.

Tattered

Frayed

Relaxed in romance, where graceful age is
painted.

I will have 17 linen paintings,
the number of salvaged planks.

Listed soon in my online shop,

These rose art pieces are so lovely and so unique! I look forward to seeing all of the ones you create with this technique on the linen fabric and salvage floor boards. It feels so European and shabby chic! I hope to add one or more to my collection of your art in my home! They would do great on a gallery wall. Have a blessed and joyful Easter, Dore! Xx

Again you did it - magic is brought in this world, Doré, with your hands and spirit.
The idea to use the canvas like this, is gorgeous. The contrast of sweetness of the roses in addition to the rough torn honest linnen, backed up with wood, makes it whole.
I hope, my translation makes sense, I am absolutely amazed, how many different shades of creatitvity are living in you, or better, how many you bring to life :))
Huuuugs from your friend Méa and happy easter :)))
