Burlap Luxe Home
I have been designing and sewing linen Noel stocking-
bags in place of traditional stockings for
our home.
December
Poem
Calm and inviting, a graceful rhythm of gentle.
Winter brings cold stillness of white painted
fields of frost that hadn't changed much from
Winters past then the feeling it was
different.
~Dore
With needle and thread.
Hems, pleats, and cotton laces.
Tattered
Graces Iron beds.
A stillness in whites will echo in
our home.
I am reimaging a piece into a side-table that
will be part of our holiday designs.
Layers of whites, textures of old bitten by
age and winters past. Someones lack of care
has become my easy elegance this
season.

Such a beautiful look. I love the old fabric that you have chosen. It all strikes that wonderful! chord of warm and elegant simplicity.
the tattered and the sublime ..
lovely.
As always - so truly beautiful!
Simply beautiful!
Dore,
I love the poem - I especially love the part about winter's past, I so remember the snowy winters of my childhood, they are etched in my heart like a snow angel.
I love winter whites too.
Enjoy the calm, said so well, I wish time would slow down why must we be always be in a hurry!
A beautiful week to you,
xo,
Gail
Dore, such a lovely poem to go along with your calm and peaceful home.
The stocking bags are so unique and lovely and so you! I can't wait to see what you do with the old piece made new as a side table. It will look perfect in your holiday decor! Have a blessed Christmas season! xo
Oh, how beautiful - your poetry as well as this piece of artwork out of white linen.
I am into sugarlinen very much, white like milk, with a distict structure.
So I can understand the magic, it adds to your French home :))
Have a blessed time, Doré, your friend Méa, who hugs you
Dear Dore. Your christmas bags are so beautiful. What a great job. They fits just perfect in your home.

It's all so elegant and beautiful Dore. I love the poem you wrote. I reread it several times, it's lovely. I bought my kiddos Pottery Barn stockings about 10 years ago. They love seeing them come down from the attic. I thought about getting them new ones to better go with my changing style, but I don't yet have the heart. xo
Dore - so much thought and feeling put into your words and images. All provokes such beautiful memories. Wishing you happiness - JoanMarie
Dear Dore!
Handmade with love, it looks amazing! Wish i could do this

Beautiful poem and your Noel bags are gorgeous, I love that idea! When I was pregnant with my first son (way back in 1989!) I made him a gaudy felt stocking from a kit and did the same for my next two. They don't use them anymore but they do still have them!
Love your words Dore and the stocking with the needlepoint or stunning. Calm and peaceful and soothing as always! I love seeing and reading your posts!
Your linen Noel pouches are lovely and heirlooms to be.
Looking forward to seeing everything. Your blog is such a source of calm for me. Thank you for sharing it.
Love the easy elegance you speak of, Dore. The details on the bags are gorgeous.
Much love,
Lin
Your poem could be placed lovingly inside each tattered Christmas sack and stocking to live on and on. ( . . . a page shared in your journal of 2015.)
Happy December Dore'!

Your French cottage is such an inspiration, especially now that I live in a small cottage. I adore your Noel bags that are a superb example of your understanding and appreciation for vintage French Christmas decor.
All is lovely elegance!

How beautiful!
You know I have noticed that it is harder and harder to find 100 percent
cotton fitted sheets. They all have some mix, or have been made wrinkle free.
I like to starch and Iron my cotton sheets, I only have a few sets left.
In my moving lots of things were stolen. That linen look is great. yvonne
Beautiful whites......love from me happy weekend love love love Ria x❤️
I have begun to love winter over the years for all the wonderful things it is. You have captured that with your words and photographs...your blog is like watching a documentary on beauty with just the perfect photos and music and poetic feel. Happy December Dore!
Dore,
Just beautiful. Your noel bags are so beautiful. Love your creative heart and poem.

Noel at its finest. Your beautiful linen stockings welcome winter, and "silent night" echos quietly throughout your home. You make everything calm and bright! Happy Holidays to you sweet Dore. Xoxo Christel
I love how you put your words together, Dore'....textures of old bitten by age and winters past. They add elegance to your images.
I like the idea of a Noel bag hanging at the foot of the bed. May I use your idea? It's lovely.
Have a grand weekend.

Bonito post.

Me!
Oh Dore, these are so sweet and elegant and truly capture the Holidays spirit. I am falling more and more in love with the simple Nordic style....but you know I struggle with wanting to add colors and staying neutral constantly....such is the fun in life, I guess. : )
Those stocking bags are fabulous! You are so talented Dore...and a lovely poem to boot!!
I love your creations...so beautiful.I wish I had your talent.The poem is lovely.Have a great weekend.
Hugs,

Simply lovely and serene! You are so creative! xo K
Your poem is lovely, Dore, and so are those Noel stocking-bags! Perfectly lovely. Merry Christmas to you and yours, beautiful friend!
Dore, your lovely blog is a treat for the soul. Your words are so soothing, and your photos inspiring.
I am playing catch up before leaving for three months, and am here to say 'thank you' for your lovely comment on my Spotlight Post a few weeks ago. My visit is long overdue, but I am so happy to have found you.
Wishing you a most joyous holiday season!
You use the most beautiful pieces in your decor and Christmas is no different. I love how you repurposed the desk. Funny if we ask them to cut anything at our Home Depot they look at us like we have four heads. I hear all these bloggers talking about getting stuff cut. Must not offer that service at our store. Good thing hubby can do it at home.
