A Season of French and Creating.

 Burlap Luxe Home Living

Repose
Finding Beauty in The Silence of Reflection

I am taking time to celebrate the changing
of seasons.
Creating a corner of reflection, and
dreaming of what it will cast from
its reflective space.

Nested in the corner on the floor a French mirror
will rest. Not at all am I disappointed in
the placement, or the backdrop of what
Fall and winter will bring.

Silence and reflection touches the soul~
of creating.

Reflecting what gets in its way.

Antique Bottles and Cartapesta
This is a creative time for me, where
greyer days encourage me to seek
inspiration.

Hand sculpted paper mache roses, layered with
 beauty yet to follow.
Will soon be added to my
etsy Burlapluxe shop-
Artist created
by Dore (me)

Decayed bottles created with lasting heirloom
quality. Layered with poetic ephemera words,
hand sculpted wire art, and tattered
vintage thread laces and twines.

Gracious Holiday Giftings.

A Gentle Reflection in its Silence

Dore,

Doré, I could kill for that mirror! Sooooooooooo damn beautiful!! Excuse the language, but I had to.... WOW! Such a beautiful piece.
And these bottles, they tell me, you really liked, what you did, full of happiness, what your magical hands can do! Oh, I dont see flowers in them, no, not in November, and the roses are flowery enough, they don´t need something aside like this... No, I see driftwood in them or cinnamonsticks... hmmmm...
Ahhh, I want to have that mirrrrorrrr, oiii... The shape alone is so delicate, it is so narrow (the right word?) and high, makes it so elegant and unique...
Wow, Doré, so you have a "proud November" and I am happy for you!
Huggles and huggiiiiies from your friend Méa :)))

That mirror in your signature finish. Breathtaking!
(I LOVE the wide mouth cartapesta bottle forward-left.)
We are were so elated to find that our daughter carried a new granddaughter. I gifted her your cross in celebration of her baptism! It was meant for her. Perfect and fragile, as she made her entrance into the world two weeks early.

Gail,
I have had this mirror hanging in every home I have had I acquired it when I was in my teens...
It use to be more gold, silver, and bronze reds, I pulled away some old broken pieces and aged it with a white finish making it feel aged with years of decay to it.
I move it about my home to reflect what gets in its way.
It's part of my holiday decor.

i have found inspiration here, dore. i have a very similar mirror just screaming for a new more flattering finish. and what a great reminder it need not be hung on the wall when there are corners which could easily be brightened by the reflective addition. thank you for sharing your gorgeous finds and creations, friend.

Dear Dore ~ Reading your posts, with beautiful photos, is a little respite for the creative soul. You help us pause to consider beauty and reflection. In such a full, fast-paced world, I crave a bit of the silence to create, that you have captured. You have created such beauty with your aged-to-perfection bottles. Your mirror is gorgeous as well!
