Burlap Luxe Home In Quiet Moments
A dear friend is moving back to the sea this week, the calm in which we will be entertained
with visits planned often enough pulls at our hearts in sharing
our friends beauty of his new home at its sandy hem.

Oh Doré,
I LOVE this picture of servies en Brocante, the Patina is so divine, the colors... hmmmm
And then, the second time, I read this post (it takes a while to understand, as I am German ;)), I saw, this was you, that painted this ocean mood??? Wow... You are a true Artist in so many ways! Stunning.
And if THIS does not sound wonderful - moving back to the sea... Ohhhh... How happy one can be.
The salt in the air, tears... the sound of the waves... live itself.
Thank you for letting me dream a bit, my dear friend, have a goooooood time, your friend Méa
Wow Doré, you are the artist of this wonderful painting from the sea? And the picture of service en brocante looks nearly like an atmospheric painting :-)
greatings from northern Germany, Karen.
And I will be going to the sea in June with my husband. I plan on taking my camera and escaping to the world I want to recreate in my Rabbit Hill cottage. Oh Doré, what beauty!
Wow, Dore, a painter as well?! Your creative talents amaze and know no bounds! The painting is beautiful, and the pottery is fabulous. It is truly a dream you are bringing to life.
Big hugs,
Patti

Gorgeous painting and I do live by the sea so this is a reminder of how beautiful and important the ocean is to me
Beautiful painting, quote, pics and inspiration - love the look. Love your blog.
Hugs.
Doré,
Love your painting of the sea, truly depicts the majestic deeply felt inspiration when returning to the sea. Horace said "A picture is a poem without words", your paining is truly poetic.
What inspiration you will find visiting your friend who is moving back to the sea. I love servies en Brocante blog. Excellent choice of photo to leave us all with a sea washed feeling today.
xoxo,
Vera
I love how we inspire one another.
I have followed you for years, but somehow, I missed that you are a painter of paintings! How beautiful is your Luxe interpretation of the sea and your words to match!
Thank you for coming to 34th street and offering your suggestions for our "off beat" chandelier. It's so very fun to play with!
Wishing the best of "life inside springtime" to you and your loves, dearest Dore!

I fell into your picture of the sea...the colors remind me of mornings with the quiet...a stroll and hitting the waves...your simple expression brings to light such a fabulous warm feeling of life...truly art
You are such a talent Dore, with art, words, visions. I love your posts as always, I get inspired by you. Why do things interfere with our creative abilities? My family had an unfortunate incident that affected us all, but of course, it seems the mother takes it harder. It happened almost 10 years ago, and since then I haven't been able to pick up a paint brush, other than to paint a wall. You inspire me, and your words inspire me to keep going:) Maybe enough to pick up a paint brush and paint my own ocean:) Thank you my friend.
Such a delicious reminder of all the things I love! Oh a sea cottage to dream for... Wouldn't it be lovely?
Hi Dore,
What a pretty vision of the sea, we living in Cali sometimes see it everyday but yet we don't really see it for the magnificence it bestows on us.
I hope all is well and you get to the sea this summer to visit your friend.
Happy Memorial Day weekend...
xo,
Gail
So beautiful Dore. You captured the sea so beautifully in your painting. I am going to visit the sea next week. I cannot wait. Enjoy the week ahead.

woman. You almost do everything, and well. yvonne
A beautiful painting, each stroke of the brush inspired by the devotion in your heart to the mystery of the sea...
I look forward to what ever delights you shall share...

I love your painting of the Grey Sea. You always surprise with the ways you inspire me.
What a beautiful painting of the sea! You have such a gift of creating art that inspires us and takes us to another place in time. I spent my childhood at the sea and really miss those days! I love that last photo and what a lovely collection of weathered brocante! Blessings!
Lovely, joyous, serene! A beautiful inspiration for a holiday weekend! xx Rié
i would love to live near the water as well. we have considered a couple waterfront properties and may get a fixer upper as a getaway but have found nothing we feel would meet our needs as a primary residence. tonight we will see a cottage which has not been lived in for years and whose overgrown garden (weeds!) has nearly swallowed up the home! i cannot imagine tackling the landscape as all that trouble is one of the reasons i was able to let go of our sleepy hollow property, but if the inside speaks to us, we may have no choice. and it isn't it ironic that we may also buy a second home in the desert, near rugged mountains i never considered friendly? i think this is what it means to stay open to what God has in store rather than rigidly follow a path with hands firmly stationed on the controls. my hands are more open these days than in fists. i will let you know if the cottage is a contender!
Just beautiful Dore! You have captured the subject and I can feel it....very well done! N.xo
The ocean painting is wonderful, Dore! The shades of gris are perfect. As I have become a woman of, shall I say, mature age certain things have become very appealing. For one, the color gray in many different shades has become ever more delightful. The painting and your quote touch my heart! I haven't been able to do much visiting with blogging friends lately and I feel I have missed much. Have a beautiful Memorial Day tomorrow!
A beautiful painting of a multi faceted subject, the sea, and captured so exquisitely on canvas.
Thanks for your lovely comment on my feature at Kris' this past Saturday!
Have a wonderful week,
Poppy
I am so in awe of your talents. This sea painting is stunning. Enjoy your visit as and soak in the sea air.

The painting is so beautiful, Dore. I first thought it was a photograph! I love the worn, white desk, and everything about that spot in the room. I hope you had a wonderful weekend. I love to visit here; it is such a special world you have created. xoox Su
Your beautiful painting really captures the emotion of the sea! I love your quote as well... ~julie
Wow Dore, you really captured the movement and color and energy of the ocean. You are such an artist on every level. I love love being near the ocean too... I have wished for my own little beach cottage for a lifetime. It sounds like you are entertaining the idea yourself. I hope you got my email a couple of weeks ago... and have been thinking about you...
Cindy
Dearest Dore,
How I have missed you... Have been away from my computer for weeks. What a joy it is to come here and find this exquisite painting.
The sea has always been such a challenge for me to paint. With all the movement in the waves you have managed to captured a sense of calm.. This is not an easy task... Bravo, dear friend!

I like the thought that tears are little nuggets of the sea, salty and a little melancholy.
