Burlap Luxe Home Office
Unfinished
Sometimes I don't get around to finishing projects because the un-
finished looks so inspiring.
Frames piled, waiting and offers a starting point for something.
I am in a French prairie kind of moment...
It's meant as a grace note of inspiration, rather then a distraction to creating.
Feather stuffed white pillows work seamlessly in French farmhouse-style. It effects
how I feel in the moment.
The rust on an iron bed casting... pure and good.
It's French farmhouse-style adds history to our rustic living.
I remember tossing a scarf over a lampshade many days ago, (1970's) now
threaded table toppers have found there way adding romance I am
calling French prairie.
The threaded lace table topper was a $1.50 thrift shop find. It added
country French prairie romance to my daughter Hannah's room.
Something we have all done, and have forgotten to do again.
Inspiring French prairie kind of moments.
Rustic romance and loved by her friends.

dore, I love their pictures !!!!! many greetings and a nice Friday of angie from Germany
Well, I am in the same mood, only with writing. There are a lot of vintage moments of my life and the life of others that I let go, put to the side, but thanks to a fellow poet in my group, I just learned this week that I must bring out those moments to pay homage to my memory of the people who made me who I am. Like an aged piece of beauty, my memories stand waiting to come out and be displayed.
Hugs to you, Doré! Anita
Oh, how I love that metal bed and those gorgeous pillows. Pillows are a weakness of mine and bedding.
Yes, Doré, I know exactly, what you mean. Sometimes my Atelier is so beautiful with all the unfinished creations and Fragments - all opportunities still open, the secret in it, what will it be?
What will it look like, were an as waht will it come to life? The process... That is the perfect decoration isn ´t it? Always there is something in process. Life, yes, this is true life, not just a done setting.
My wonderful, never stop :))
Hugs to you, my dear friend, I think of you, Méa
I love the look of your lace tossed over a lampshade! I may have to do that with one of mine:) French prairie sounds lovely! Have you seen The Well-Diggers Daughter on Netflix? It's a French sub-titled film but what I imagine living on a French prairie would be!
Have a wonderful weekend Dore!
Hands down, my absolutely favorite style. The iron bed is incredible! And the pillows! And, and... how I wish I lived next door so we could shop together, Doré! Enjoy the moments creating.
Love,
Lin
Soooo love it all! Love the delicate lace with the heavy rust graceful lines. The linens and white pillow are perfect.
Great pictures and I love the style too. the rusty bed is gorgeous and so are the pillows. I know your office will come together and be peaceful and stunning when you add your special touch.
Your photos,
Your home,
P O E T R Y in vision and beauty!!!!
Delighted {as usual} ~ Violet
Everything is lovely Dore.
I'm picturing French prairie not as we would here with miles and miles of grasslands and wheat fields but as beautiful lush acreage of lavender. Purple as far as the eye can see...
And the rusting bed frame, just divine... each flake of rust a tale of its past...

SO beautiful! Inspiring to me too!
Doré,
On a day that is hectic and without a moments time to look at blogs, I noticed you had posted. I rushed over and felt relaxed in your photos of beauty in the rustic. I've been working on my poem for my next post and realized that some of my written words meaning I found today in your photos messages. Yes, it is in the opportunity to rest the mind and see from a different perspective what beauty lies in the realization of what we call now, in this moment of time and space.
The gathered frames awaiting new purpose to be embraced, the rusted patina and glory of a worn faded piece, the comfort and fluff of white euro pillows in a snuggle with after a rough day.... Yes, yes, yes you dwell and embrace a world of ultimate possibilities.
Love and hugs,
Vera

A French Prairie Kind of Moment... Love that turn of a phrase, but am having a hard time envisioning French prairies. Your unfinished projects ARE beautiful in their unfinished states. And those ruffled pillows look fantastic.

Hello Dore
I adore the bed. I found a similar one at a farm auction one time, in rural Ontario, I had to wait in the pouring rain for all the cattle to be auctioned off and then the bed, which I acquired for a ridiculously low sum. I also love the lace shade you added to your lamp. Have a great week

Dore, so calming and peaceful, in one word...serene and not in the cold as a witch's teat in a brass bra kind of cold...the cold I'm having on the farm.
(hope you're laughing with me...)
also loving the "unfinished" sweet blog
You've articulated it well Dore - the unfinished often provides such inspiration! Sometimes we get caught into thinking everything has to serve a purpose - when maybe it does but its purpose is to inspire... I'd say that's worth its space! Especially for artistic types... :) Hope you are enjoying the weekend! xo ~julie
Your soft way of decorating your beautiful home always leaves me sighing, Dore. It's just perfection.

My dear friend,
You joined a pottery class? How fun.. Would love to see your pieces when finished.. I signed up for a class a few years ago.
I felt like LUCY when on the wheel. Talk about embarrassing, and hilarious, my piece flew off the wheel and down the isle.
I was heavy on the foot peddle..
Yes, I do get artist block at times... Then I must move on to something entirely different, or I work in the garden.. That always works for me.
Thank you so much for your kind words. I am so happy you enjoyed Peanut.
fondly,
Penny
i am diggin french prairie. indeed. it's got that effortless, slightly undone, unfussy, never too serious because-people-actually-live-in-the-space, kinda look. get down, dore. get down wit yer bad self. (lost my mind just there and i blame it on your reference to the 70s which were kind to me). peace and patina, lovely blogger.
So beautiful! Every image sets a mood. I adore that little dresser in your daughters room, the one with the lace lampshade... and that wonderful old iron bed, wow. Scrumptious pillow too. Everything here is always so darn pretty and inspiring...
Cindy
Those are all such beautiful images. I love the crispness of the white and the age of the metal on the bed. I love contrast like that. Sometimes it's fun to see beauty in things just the way they are, not styled and not planned.
It amazes me how you can take a piece of linen/lace/doily and through it over a lamp and it turns out beautiful. If I did that, people would think I was just to lazy to put it away! You have a gift Dore!! Blessings, Cindy
Hi Dore,
Whatever style you are into at the moment, you always make it look so effortless, natural, and oh so pretty! I really love this French farmhouse style and am trying to bring this style in my home. I always know when I come here to see what is new, I will find inspiration for my home. I love those frames, the rustic bed, and the crispy white linen pillows! And now I have to find some lace to throw over a lampshade!:) Blessing to you, my dear friend! xo
Oh Dore...my beautiful French House Number sign arrived! It is simply lovely and will find a special place in my home. Merci...merci..from the bottom of my heart for sharing your own heart! Bisous....
That pile of frames - want those! And that iron bed - the patina is divine, Dore. I love antique iron beds. They are so charming. Thanks for the tour around your atelier. Cheers
Just wonderful and very elegant! Wow!!!
All my best
Elisabeth
