Gilded French Rococo And Birdcages

Burlap Luxe Kitchen
Gilded

Stored away a French gild mirror of silvers, gold and bronze has found its way to
hanging now in my kitchen.
I have had this vintage beauty through many moving wars and it has surprisingly
taken a few beatings with lasting beauty.

Gilded with authentic French history.

I have added the elegance of a French gilded mirror to the simple living space
of my country white distressed kitchen.
The cabinet underneath the mirror displays a softer side of
collecting pieces I love, and live with.

I have been painting and distressing farmhouse chairs adding
a bit more rustic to the elegance.

Vintage birdcages scattered about soften the harder edges of elegance;
welcoming spring.

Thank you Lin, for creating this tiny pen ink print nest and eggs.
It is loved right where it can be seen.

Birdcages designed to play their part in my French country house.

Rural and Rustic

Comfortable with the characteristic pieces that are almost painfully rural up
against the gilded mirror

Decorative Details

The beauty it added to my kitchen sitting area.

Inspiring details in unexpected places.

Gorgeous mirror. And to reflect a chandelier. Perfect. I went to the Vintage Marketplace in Rainbow last weekend. Check out what I found and the previous post of what I took photos of and some reminded me of your blog. www.cruisinoversixty.com

Doré,

I love the visual exchange rustic and elegant engages our imagination in. Your chairs you painted and limed give a gentleness to their appeal. Beautiful pen and ink nest. The size makes it even more precious. Conveying it's Spring and all the beauty it brings!

So delightful to hear you kept the gorgeous French mirror and it is perfectly placed and hung to reflect your peaceful style you do so extremely well, that we all adore.
XOXO,
Vera

Bonjour ma belle!

It is the weekend, and now I can sit down to enjoy my favorite blogs. Thank you for coming to invite me over, though I would have made it over to you eventually!

Doré, this is divine. DIVINE, BIEN SÛR! The hues of old gold, white, gray....you know how I feel about that. The patina of French history, love and artistry is show here in fullest measure. What a way to display your kitchen, with the touch of elegance. BRAVO! And I think of you always as I try to distress/paint a wooden horse that I love so...he is sitting on a gray table in my séjour, and I need to work on him to get him just right. But you always come to mind when I see him.

BRAVO ma chère; you have done it again! LOVE Anita

The mirror is exquisite, and perfect in your kitchen. Your chairs are just EXACTLY the look that I want to create for my farm table top & French baker's rack shelves, and your little birdcages steal my heart.

I am honored that my little pen & ink original has found a place in your beautiful home, Doré.

Thank you for all the wonderful inspiration and beauty you share!

And my dear Doré, I just came back from the store where I picked up a copy of Artful Blogging. I held it in my hands, opened up to YOUR page, and was blessed to say, "I know here. She is my friend." Your work looks so lovely laid out on the page! I am still waiting to see my work and words in the printed version of the Scarlet Pink magazine.

Thank you so much for coming today to visit. Though my eyes are starting to age (I need new glasses!), my soul is live and growing young because of HIM, HIS world, HIS love....and the love of friends.

Enjoy a productive and inspiring week chère copinaute, Anita

Dear Dore, I was delighted to see a new post from you. This mirror has a stately presence, and rightfully so! It is very regal, and worldly. It governs the space just as it should, demanding it be appreciated! I love it. The farm chair is identical to the chairs in my little country kitchen! The second birdhouse shown, is identical to one in my home as well. It sits on my master bath floor, housing a wandering vine. I especially love the last birdhouse you have pictured, and the print given to you as a gift. It's the special touches you incorporate into every space, that make them truly unique and beautiful. Once again, you are a master at creating beauty! xoxo Christel

Bonjour ma belle!

Thank you so much for visiting me last night. Yes, all is well here, no that is not me in the banner, though many people think it is! My home is not that exquisite, nor do I have a dress as such! But my heart goes out to a blogger friend and many others who are being diagnosed with the disease that took both my parents, my two aunts, and countless others. I just wanted to make a poem.

I hope you are well! I am currently writing for a magazine, I am continuing my teaching of French on a part-time basis (I prefer that) and soon summer will be here!

OH, I am also painting a little table and having SO MUCH FUN doing so. Much love to you precious Doré! Anita
