A Sparrow Took A Piece Of Twig
"click on photo enlarge" ~ artist Doré Callaway
That little bird has chosen his shelter. Above it are the stars and the
deep heaven of worlds. Yet he is rocking himself to sleep without
caring for tomorrow's lodging, calmly clinging to his little twig,
and leaving God to think for him.
- Martin Luther
What is joy? It is a bird That we all want to catch.
It is the same bird That we all love to see flying
- Sri Chinmoy
Hope is the thing with feathers
That perches in the soul,
And sings the tune without the words,
and never stops at all.
- Emily Dickenson
If I were a bird, I'd sing a song
And fly about the whole day long
And when the night comes, go to rest,
Up in my cozy little nest.
- Jackie Silberg
The sound of birds stops the noise in my mind.
- Carly Simon
"Inspiring you all to take a leap and build your wings on the way down"
(Celebrate Daring) - Doré
(This sign is listed in my peaceful etsy.) As well as a thank you to my daughter Hannah for allowing me to post the sign on her bed, "Sing And Fly my little bird"

So beautiful and so poetic! I loved every single poem, especially Carly Simon's quote. And I adore your style and all of your gorgeousness, dahling!!!!
Happy poetic weekend to you :)
P.S. Remnants is next Saturday so I'm working round the clock. Can't wait to share photos and how it went!
Those poetic quotes were so fabulous! THANK YOU. I really loved them. Stop on by my blog, I'm giving away a CSN gift certificate!
What beautiful artwork. I love the poetry, especially Emily Dickenson. Your art is so peaceful and comforting. My mother was a brid lover and I have fond memories of her looking at your art. I will be purchasing one from you very soon. So lovely.
Oh Dore, Your comment on my blog made me SMILE so big! You are so sweet! I LOVE dessert for breakfast, lunch and dinner! It's just perfect! I know what you mean about the cardboard! Years ago I worked at a restaurant and when you worked outside on the patio, at the end of the night you would have to pick up ciggerette butts that people had thrown. They felt so GROSS to me, the paper just creeped me out! I'd have to use a napkin to pick them up! Thank you for joining in my little party! And it was so nice "speaking" with you!
Bonjour ma belle Doré! What BEAUTIFUL poems that are so fitting for your breathtaking art my dear. How striking that white and textures of burlap can make my heart sing....and of course, the image of such a creature that has inspired ART, POETRY and analogies, similes and metaphors for LIFE. A simple yet SIMPLY ELEGANT POST, the way I love it.....Bises, Anita
Anita Cher,
Vos visites réchauffer mon cœur autant que la poésie dans le chant d'un oiseau.
