A French Bedroom...Simplicity In Rustic Elegance

 Burlap Luxe Living
In French style.

A country bedroom should feel airy with open space.
Giving this small French style bedroom a paleness
of touch.

A French bedroom is always distinctive of its simplicity.

An important piece in a French bedroom is the bed, never
allowing it to take over the room.

The French mirror plays a role in opening up the size
of the rooms small space.
Placed over a favorite chest of drawers to reflect the
bed and the accented decorative pieces.

Mirrors are used in every room reflecting the light into
its space adding an open airy feel to a room.
In the case with my smaller room.

vintage Sawhorse

I turned an old carpenters sawhorse into
a bedside table by adding a planked surface and
trimming if off for rustic rural country feel.

The French use of pieces once used with another
function are often never discarded in a French
home.
When and item loses its usefulness,
its again admired as decorative.

Inspiring
 Spaces.

  9. Dear Dore,
Only you my friend, could transform an old carpenters sawhorse into such a beautiful bedside table. A perfect piece to rest next to your peaceful bed, surrounded by light.

We both see objects as what they could become, not always as what they are intended for. I know this must be as exciting to you as it is to me.

Thank you so much for leaving such a sweet comment on my blog. You are always so kind and have such a special way with words. Thanks for sharing your story about the homeless man that you and your daughter helped. It really touched my heart.

    Have a wonderful weekend.

  16. I never would have thought to place the rustic table in the same room as the formal dresser, but because of your masterful painting technique it totally works! The room is so beautiful!!!

  24. There is no room we love more than the bedroom. A place dedicated to relaxing, romancing, sleeping, and dreaming—what could be better!? It's the getaway within our homes and if that's not the case—it's time to make a change!
