Showing Hospitality Rustic And Rural French

 Burlap Luxe Home

Entertaining with a hospitable heart.
Giving of thanks, and throwing away every trouble
this world throws our way.

You are invited to sit at my table.

I have decided I need nothing new for this thankful
table this year.
I appreciate what I have, and won't disregard it as
not good enough.

 Rural and Rustic
French in pottery design as if a roadside potier
has hand tossed it's family dinning plates, but I did.

My hand tossed and misshapen pottery plates will
be set and ready to greet family and guest.

It only felt fitting that our table be set in
French style, rural and rustic.

Giving Of Thanks.

I am content with what was shaped by my hands.
Content is great gain.

Vintage serving spoons.

Fleur-de-lis
Symbolic in France.

My plates are of French porcelain fired at temperatures
for edible daily use.
Nothing formal or fancy, just a setting of contentment.

l'escargot

We love..ESCARGOT

These 6 escargot pots were brought back from a
Paris France brocante packed in a suitcase.
Now listed for you in my...

  9. Oh, ohhhh Doreeeeeé, escar... snales?? Oiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii, watch me run away. This I couldn´t. I am really not picky, can eat a fish´s head, yes, I do that, but snales... I tried them once, an uncle showed me, how to eat them, but... well... mission impossible ;)) After two snales little Méa turned green in her face and... I decided, this is not compatible with me, hahaha - even if it is french ;)
But I would loooove to take place, just eating with my eyes - seeing the beautiful pottery, so reduced to what is beauty without tricks, plane and natural, all what´s needed, is there. The real thing.
This will be a lovely season!!
So huggies to you, my sweet Doré... I will bring a bouillabaisse with me, if I am allowed,
    Méa

  10. Doré,
There is allure in your simplistic rustic artisan pottery. I know it was crafted by your hand and guided by your heart. I think if we all take a pause and reflect on our blessings in life we would discover the true happiness that dwells inside. Many people equate purchases with a "if only I had this, then I'd be happy". Happiness lives in the heart and has no purchase price tag attached! Doré as you and Hannah gather at the table on Thanksgiving I will be there in my heart giving thanks for the friendship you grace me with.
    xoxo,
    Vera

  24. Dore, the dishes you made are beautiful, and I love the perfection in the imperfection. I also love mismatched silverware, and I found most second hand. So many people don't want that anymore. Happy Thanksgiving to you and your daughter. xoxo Su

  25. Hi Doré,

It's my first time here, and may I say how welcomed you have made me feel already, your table set with 'homemade' crafts that are both pretty and practical, created to be appreciated during one of life's many daily routines, as well as those set for special gatherings.

It's so true, isn't it? Materialistically, we really do have more than we need; it's food for the soul that we are constantly hunting for, the kind that is most satisfying.

Wishing you a peaceful Thanksgiving, with lots of love around your festive table.

  33. AMEN, sister! I've got a lot of stuff but it all, every blessed thing, has a history, meaning and I simply don't want to get rid of anything. On the other hand, I do need to be better at a place for everything and everything in its place.
Congratulations on Daphne's Diary; what a perfectly sweet publication...I keep to read, re-read and wallow in kindness.

  34. Your vintage silverware is beautiful, Dore! I love the wonderful patina, and monogram too! What a pretty table you must have set. Thanks so much for your kind comments on my faux mercury glass ornaments! I'm sorry, I just now saw your comment, as my husband and I have been sick with a very nasty cold/flu bug for the past two weeks. Ugh! So that has put me really behind, and I've not been blogging much. Have a wonderful week!
