Francais Beurre de Velvet...With French Textiles

 Burlap Luxe Home

Tranquil and embraces the idea of simplicity.
A French home in whites, silvery greys, and
French butter.

 A whisper in contrast;
White, golden, and grey.

 Inspired spaces,
relaxed and seasonal.

One thing about fall it rushes me
into winter.
The demand for my French stockings has me
in rush mode.

Seasons and time seem to work against me!
The great part is after meeting the many
needs of my buyers in the trade, it
allows me to fill my etsy shop with a
head start in the season to come.

 French Velvet Brocade
custom created pattern and sewn
by
Dore of Burlap Luxe

Vintage French textiles hand sewn into
holiday stockings in a velvet tone as soft as
French butter.
Instant heirloom, because the fabric
already is.

5 French stockings that hang from a zinc ring
have been included in my,
 Burlap Luxe etsy shop.

Sewn with triple overcast seams, preshrunk vintage for
family heirloom quality.

29" in length

Choosing handmade celebrates simple
beauty.

Creating a French seasonal home.

  1. Oh yes, Doré, time can be a mean thing, as it is sometimes forcing us tu hurry and rush... I know that, ohh just right now I am crosseyed because of all the "what you should have done in the meanwhile..." So many projects have to wait, and sure, the customers do not want to wait for their little treasures until after x-mas.
Yes, now is the time, to be busssssy...
So I wish you all the power in the world and some extra time to be found, your friend Méa

  3. It sounds like you're getting a good head start on the holiday season! Your handmade stockings are beautiful, I love the color. When my kids were babies I used to make them those really gaudy felt stockings, oh but they loved them so much!!! All our Christmas decorations were so bright back then but now, with them all grown, I prefer the whites and soft colors of Christmas...funny how much our style can change over the years:)

Thank you for your visit to my blog and for your lovely words, you've always been so kind to me and so encouraging of my tiny little rental nest...it's much appreciated:)

  7. Doré,
Oh how I can relate. When we owned our greeting card company I would have to have all my new Christmas designs completed by June then they would be shown by our reps, orders taken and needed to be fulfilled to the stores by September. Made our holidays seem celebrated twice, I so relate.
I love all your latest additions to your Burlap Luxe store. You have been very busy creating magic! I own 2 of your handmade stockings and will attest to them being exquisite, sewn beautifully and having a special timeworn look and feel to them that sets them apart from any other French inspired stocking in the marketplace.
Doré you create art from your heart and enrich the lives and homes of those who purchase your beautiful pieces.
    xoxo,
    Vera

  8. Beautiful.
Everything you touch is exquisite, my friend. I truly purchase French butter. It's flavor is as parfait to the pallet as your elegant stockings are to my eyes!
You are brilliant, gracious and always so encouraging to me.

  14. Dore, the French butter yellow stockings are just so lovely and unique! The fabric is so rich and luxurious! I can see them in a room of grays, whites and blacks. I too own a set of your handmade stockings and I can say they are even lovelier in person. They are of a fine heirloom quality that you don't find in a store or catalog. Well worth the money spent on them. I can't wait to put them up this year and for years to come! Always enjoy seeing your lovely photos of your home and creations. Lisa xo

  32. Dear Dore, how very lovely to open my blog, and find such an amazing note from you! You make me blush, surely I am not worthy of such praise, but I greatly appreciate your comments.

You write with the same ease, and purpose as you create. A seemingly non significant branch lain among your hand made dishes is a perfect example. The branch, seemingly unimportant, brings harmony, and balance to an all white setting, almost making itself the focus!

It brings warmth to a sterile environment. Not to dismiss your hand made wares by any means, they are truly spectacular! This my sweet friend is just one of the reasons you resonate to me! I love your subtle way of bringing us beauty, and elegance. Oh how I wish I lived near you. I visit your blog often for inner peace, and great inspiration. One never knows where they might find inspiration. I can picture a small elven being riding on the back of a bird when I see your beautiful winter signs. I see a grandmother with her sewing, seated by a fire, when viewing a chair you have brought back to life! The beautiful stockings you have created bring me back to my childhood, and crocheted stockings my grandmother made each and every one of her 37 grandchildren as Christmas gifts! Yes, 37!!!

In fast moving times, where the simple things in life go unnoticed, you my dear, make us NOTICE! Thank you so much for the boost of confidence, as you know, we artists are a peculiar sort, and judge ourselves, often times , way too much! I appreciate you making me feel validated today.I hope you feel that every day. Much Love, Christel
