Be inspired by...

"Burlap Luxe Home"

 Simple beauty, "making something out of nothing"
I have collected odd and shapely dicarded salt & pepper shakers filling them with soul. 


While you may have an affinity for rosebuds and fresh picked flowers, note that there is beauty all around us. A simple wild garden weed growing with little life left in it will add passion, purpose, and creative living. These stems of weedy wildflowers gathered up from the weed filled garden beds of discarded cuttings adds special life to its beauty.

    I so agree with you. As time goes on I have learned to appreciate every little thing for the beauty it contains. Pieces of salvage, once discarded, are held as a precious possession. Enjoyed your post :)

    Oh ma chère, I see the love. I see the worn beauty and so much patina and age shines right through these old salt and pepper shakers. Wishing you a lovely day my friend; we had snow and the days are gray, but I enjoy that. However, a little color and some green would be nice! Anita

    Love the salt and pepper shakers used as a vase. As for the weed flowers we're surrounded by them and some are so beautiful in their form.

    Your artistic eye for simple beauty and your inspiring ideas are always refreshing in blog-land.

    I have always loved this quote "Nature is pleased with simplicity"- Isaac Newton.

    Around 25 years ago my husband and I were building stacked field stone walls to house our boxwood plants.
    I picked up a slab sized thinner stone with lovely variegated shades and announced cheese board. I honestly think John thought that the heat
    had gotten to me!

    Nature and simplicity, aesthetically beautiful
    and still a perfect cheese board.

    Dore thank you for soulful inspiration.
    Those field flowers in the salt shakers are stunning. Going to go check out my vintage collection for bud vases.

    Dinner guests are coming over on Saturday, a salt holder/bud vase at each setting. Perfect!!!

    Your little salt and pepper shakers are so sweet. I love the way you see beauty in everything. Even the pretty little weeds that people take for granted. And, i love the words you quoted

    Good morning! It is so good to see your comment and to read it on this ICY morning. It is raining ICE TODAY! But you know, as much as I long for spring and summer, I still love these gray days! We are bound in friendship and with the love for that gray zone of peace, of waiting, and of silence.

    I've probably been passing by old salt shakers when out shopping and never realized how wonderful they look grouped together! Perfect for filling with little bits of flowers or a dandelion brought to me by my four year old son. :)
