"Your wings already exist.
All you have to do is fly."
This is one of my favorite china patterns I own, and I love to entertain on it bringing nature to the table and letting it sing.
A restful kitchen is where you will find our peaceful bird china.
I have always loved the soft colors in old linens and antique china. This is why many years ago I fell in love with this pattern. This set has become a family tradition for us. When the birds in late spring begin to sing, we find a reason to celebrate with them. We will invite friends over and serve up a special brunch and homemade dessert, on this occation getting the table completely set was exciting. After our delightful brunch we finished off with a homemade double fudge cake, and orange tea, wish I could have invited all of you. "Inspiring you all to make something from nothing everyday" even if it is entertaining friends with delightful nature and inviting the birds to stay awhile. I think that is the loveliest bird patterned china I've seen yet. It is just enough and must brighten the grayest of days. No wonder you enjoy it so much.
This is uncommonly beautiful china. I love bird motifs and the muted colors are really thrilling aren't they? Beautiful post.Jacqueline

What a beautiful pattern. I am discovering a love for birds lately...and that is strange because I have a bird phobia. It is lessening, especially if the birds stay in their space and I stay in mine! We went to Ashton, Idaho, recently where the river birds are colorful and fabulous. They truly brought me happiness for free the other day just like your post did today!
Oh my gosh, I am falling in love with bird motifs this year and your china is exceptional. You do have a way with the vintage chic! THANK YOU FOR SPREADING SUCH BEAUTY! Anita
I adore this dinner set, and your table setting looks like it is beautiful too. I would love to see how you adorn an entire table, I bet it would look magnificent. I can see why you treasure this set. i would too.

The photo of your beautiful daughter on your sidebar is just fabulous! Did anyone ever tell her she looks like the country singer Sara Evans? I think she does, and Sara Evans is gorgeous!

Oh Doré ma belle! THank you for coming by and reveling in my blue heaven!!! AND THANK YOU FOR DIRECTING ME TOWARDS yours on the previous post! As much as I love the blue dresser, I prefer yours....I am still and I think always we bill partial to the subtle grace of the earthy, muted tones of gold, white, cream, brown and such. If anything, the blues that have captured my attention would just appear in my décor in small doses here and there!
Thank you again for coming to visit! I have you on my blog roll to make sure I don't skip a beat chez toi!!!
Have a fabulous day, Anita
So lovely and inviting!

Dore, I wanted to leave a comment from your lovely comment on my blog, what I meant as a "visionary" it that you have the sweetest ability to see beauty in something someone might just pass over. I love that you can make beauty out of burlap. That is a special gift. I see all of that in your creative touch. Then you so sweetly share it with us. I too over think everything and as I over thought this was what I came up with.
Have a lovely day.
Simply serene and oh so special china, Dore! The birds are signing right outside my door at this moment so it was perfect timing with reading your blog. And do I love your blog and your words and your colors and your creativness and you...

what a china beaufiful pattern - understated beauty - just exquisite - and the silver reminds me so of a pattern my mother had many moons ago - i've always loved tablescapes, too, and am sure the food being served is even more delicious when set out on such a magnificent table!
Dining with birds?!? Ah, my favorite! They are very good conversationalists at dinner you know ;)
Now would you be so kind as to point me in the direction of the bowl with the milk? Thank mew Ms. Dore! You're the best!
Purrs!

Ah ha! I DID walk right by the milk! I guess I was floating a little too high as I admired all the beautiful birds. Now that I am back to earth, I see the milk. Many thanks for leaving me out a bowl -- you are always so kind to this old cat.
Purrs!
Romeo (yes, again)
