At Home..Cottage French

Burlap Luxe At Home

Let's just keep it simple and
throw in some pillows, flowers,
and a special piece for me!

Carmel By The Sea
Canvas.

French Floral Can...
Real-life marvels.

Where I dwell and live creatively.

Artist Cindy Austin

"Carmel By The Sea"

Having such a dear friend in the art world and blogger,
I mentioned to Cindy that I know of a photo that will
inspire perhaps a new art piece out of her.
To my surprise! not only did she paint it,
but it arrived at my home with great
shock!!

With all the romance Carmel California added to
my life with the feeling of a European village;
I so connected with everything about this
painting.

Growing up in the Bay Area of Northern California,
falling in love there, Carmel-by-the-Sea makes
the heart soar.
A European-style sea town where sheep graze
in the hillsides overlooking the roaring
surf, and calming breezes.

Carmel California, is rated one of the nation's
top sandy sea towns.

Tears flowed when I took notice of this special
signing on the side of the canvas.

Oh funny is that...I was just thinking about Cindy and was remembering about when she asked me if she could use my photo as an inspiration for your painting, and here it is! I had no idea you were going to feature this! It looks great. I only wish you would have credited me for it! OH well....it looks marvelous. The photo can be seen again on my Instagram page. That was such a perfect moment and the colors were perfection, and Cindy really captured it.

Enjoy it!

Ah, Doré, rural french meets style in simplicity as a surrounding of art. The painting is beautiful but not even needed, as you paint pictures with your camera.
Never loud, never "trendy" because timeless and never "out".
And there it is, more rural, more raw to the delicate. Changes. I love it.
Huuugs from your friend Méa, have a goooood time :))))

Dore,
A perfect post for me to read on the 1st day of Spring.... The painting is perfect for your French-inspired home with all its beautiful neutral decor. Your white-painted night stand with its three drawers is pretty next to your bed with its matelasse bedskirt. So much to love everywhere I look...

Dore, I was so excited to see a new blog from you! What a lovely one it is to bring in the first day of Spring! From the loosely placed flowers in the rustic old French cans to the vignette of old frames and a painting of roses and that beautiful countryside your friend, Cindy, painted for you! Such a thoughtful gift for you to have in your home to reflect upon a wonderful time in your life. That is just so special. I just love it! Have a blessed Springtime! :)

The painting is so beautiful and special by Cindy, whom I love and deeply admire. The photos here are so bright and cheery, Dore! Btw, the wedding in Laguna is postponed until summer so not sure when we can meet for a bonding session. However, we bought a little getaway cottage south of Phoenix (I am there til tomorrow) so I will def have a chance to get to Cali since it is an easy drive. I will keep you posted, friend. Peace.
