Crowns and Oysters
Vintage book ephemera sea.
Aged and sea weathered.
Tranquil Garlands of Oyster shells,
and Salvaged woods.
Soft greys and whites washed in the sea with salvaged
woods that echo the feel of driftwood's bleached and
washed by the sea, where waves lapping against the
sand adds plenty of texture naturally.
More then 90% of the oysters produced in France
are consumed by the French.
The French have been the undisputed leader in
farming oysters in all of Europe.
Cartapesta crowns dangle, and well suited as
if found drifted along the seashore.
Tattered laces, netting's, and cartapesta crowns,
and sea like beaded pearls are strung
with salvage.
French Culinary Sea-Catchers.
French~Nordic
Salvaged from the sea.
Crowned The French Oyster: the pearl of the
Atlantic.
The French whom are called the farmers of the sea,
work with "savior-faire".
A source of inspiration,
these little concentrates of the ocean,
are now...

Beautiful washed-out grey's Dore and lovely addition's to your's and anyone's homes. The oyster shell's give a feeling of Summer on a very frosty grey morning here in the UK. XXXX
Such loveliness here , Dore'.
Being so near Hood Canal, I have harvested oysters. They are truly amazing treasures. One of our favorite Summer rituals is roasting them on the grill and eating them as the pop open with bites of baguette and sips of wine.
Our son Jay and his fiance' Camille gifted my husband Kim a wonderful cast iron oyster roaster from Sur La Table. I gifted Kim the book Meet Paris Oyster by Mirielle Guillano.
Once again your post and it's "the perfect food" for the heart and soul speak my love language!

W-w-w-woohaaaaooow - oiii, Doré! These pictures!! Your creations! So beautyful!! Adorable in combination with these sweet crowns and this beach look. Is there something you CAN´T do?? What a painting (do you say painting?) and I SWEAR, we are twins, as we both are into oysters right now.
And no, I am not into oysters, because I often say oiiii, hahaha
No, this has another reason - I collect them for summer and for Alice. You know her - she came to meet oysters - oysters with legs... in wonderland.
So every Saturday, I eat two oysters, yess...
This is making me really happy to see, that you are full of ideas, still enlarging your scale, staying true to your unique style.
So I huuug you hapily, I am fighting here, had such a sweet creatin ready, then the thread broke.. oiii. So, well, I will start again...
your friend Méa
Oh I forgot - the idea with this LACE for a piece of net... wow...
Hugs again :))
darling diminutive crowns.. :)
and your painting? lovely - you did it right.
Hi, Dore. Beautiful creations and beautiful photos of your home. Are the crowns separate? The one that says "sea"? or "Europe" I didn't see them. It makes me want to make a paper again. I had fun with making paper quite some years ago, ruined my mixer then. I use to put flowers in it. xoxo Su
Doré your latest art offering is very expressive. Conveying a peaceful feeling of the sea. I adore the sweet little Cartapesta crowns, the tattered lace to represent netting, the dangling of washed woods and embellishments in your sea washed shades of whites and greys. The glass container filled with Oyster shells looks pretty placed upon your kitchen shelves. But Doré you now have me wanting to enjoy the taste of Oysters, a New Orleans Oyster Po Boy sandwich encrusted in cornbread and lightly fried... Oh yum for lunch! Beautiful garlands Doré, intriguing art.
xoxo,
Vera
How I love your little crowns, Doré. Everything is fresh and lovely here as always.
I started working on a crown yesterday. I am trying out a new idea with paper clay ~ we'll see if it works out!
Big hugs,
Lin
Oh Dore! The crowns and garlands are beautiful creations and I LOVE your Grey Sea painting. Your style and the feeling you convey with your words and images is pure magic. I love watching for your new posts and re-reading them often. You are a kindred spirit.
Many warm wishes...

How lovely, Dore! I am in love with your decor and creations...and am charmed by your petite crowns...
All beautiful neutral tones of nature! I still need to paint that lovely dog of yours! xo
THOSE MINI CROWNS. oh my. you're just tugging on our poor hearts like a French goddess of the sea (with a fondness for kissing the waves on the lips). they are tres belle, and i can imagine your joy making them. merci for sharing your unique mix of prose, paper goodness, and pretty style in a most dreamy delivery of photography and magic. peace to you, gorgeous artist.
p.s. i'll be in laguna beach in april...maybe not close enough to your neck of the woods but i'd love to see you!
I adore the crusty oyster shel garland! So creative and natural and peaceful. Your paper mache crowns are stunning too!
Just when I wondered what you would create next I see this. Oh my how lovely and sweet! The crowns are just wonderful. I love the jar of shells too. You are amazing my friend! xoxox
Dore your creations are so beautiful! I can also see them looking so charming in a beach cottage. And your styling is gorgeous as always. The trail I walk on each and every week has an oyster shell path leading up to it. It's one of my favorite places. xo
Dear Dore,
Seeing these new creations as I was just thinking of you. Your art brings such calm and stillness to my heart!

Hi Dore
The petite crowns are lovely among the vintage trinkets & oyster shells. I am so curious to try oysters now, I see them served in such create ways but yet to indulge!
Perhaps I'm missings out on my own "Kiss of the Sea"
Lovely I adore them!
xo,
Gail

It's heaven to be here with you! Your work is a dream, highlighted by wellchosen words so! Thanks for visiting my heavenly sister, it feels so good in my sad time ... I had to learn at the start of the new year, let go. My mother ... Be again firmly embraced, hope you can understand everything? XOX, your Meisje
Loved this blog post. I'm glad to see I'm not the only one collecting those smelly oyster shells, lol. Every time my hubby and I go to the beach I save the oyster shells for decorating.
You make those oyster shells look so beautiful and they match the surroundings. I shall have to find more of them as I walk along the shore! Sarah x
Your crowns are so precious. ... and every photo is just a feast for the eyes as always
