The beauty of living with rustic is its effortless elegance.
A thing of beauty is a joy forever:
its loveliness increases; it will never pass into nothingness.
~John Keats
I am not a collector of anything I just take home what's been lost letting its humble, and soulful beauty live again along with pieces I can rest my heart on.
A silvery aged patina with soothing soul adds romantic rustic rich in honest authenticity while living with grace day by day.
A muse of artistic vibes with lasting age of patina and tarnish.
My latest piece is this early 1930's ice cream container with lid along side my
French floral cans.
A perfect piece of fence post garden brocante "Not quite valuable but not quite worthless."
sits on the bottom shelf of my center island.
My inspiring corner...
Living with rustic distressed with pale, neutral and calm.
Beautiful photos and they are inspiring!

The beauty that you create with the rustic and "cast-offs" draws me in every time, Dore!! I love the phrase you used, "not valuable but not worthless." Those seem to be what I'm drawn too as well. Love your old key garland...thanks for the great idea!

Dore, I love how you think and express your thoughts. Your words add beauty to your treasures
ReplyDeleteYou know how much I love your peaceful abode, Dore. I don't collect either, but, somehow the things we're drawn to compliment each other. You're home is a beautiful example of that. Always inspiring.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness Doré, I love what you said about not being a collector of anything, that you just take home what had once been lost...Love it! I feel exactly the same. Wonderful pictures, truly rustic beauty to the max.

Everything is gorgeous Dore! I love how you've displayed your lovely items. Beautiful words also:)
ReplyDeleteDore, your pretty post illustrates how not everything has to be utilitarian in order to be useful. These lovely items serve to instill a sense of quiet peacefulness merely by "being."

Dear Dore
ReplyDeleteYour pieces tell a story.. One of beauty and age, and that everything has a place in this world and nothing is worthless.. I often wonder about the history of old wood pieces.. Where they came from and who took loving care of them, such as you do yours.
Beautiful post my dear friend.
Wishing you a beautiful weekend.
bisous!
your photos are so beautiful dear Dore and your treasures are most inspiring.
ReplyDeletewishing you a great sunday

Good morning my dear. It is so nice to see you here, with what I see is some lovely inspiration. When I have a moment during my day, I make adjustments in my home, take something away and place it somewhere else, until this feeling of grace completes my home. You have it, I am getting it, and I love it.
